"I wish I could just get attention and tell Google what I think of their mobile products..."
or
"I have an awesome idea for a Google mobile product! Now if only I could show Google how cool this is..."?
At Google, we know we've got some really great users with some really great ideas, and we're excited to open up a new project called Product Ideas, a platform through which we're taking a new approach to feedback for Google mobile products. Whether it's a feature request, a crazy idea, a rave or a rant, we want to hear it. Even more, we want other users to hear it, to see what others are buzzing about, and to be able to vote on all these ideas.
You can tell us what you think is a great idea for our products, what you think we could improve on, or what you really love about Google mobile products. The Product Ideas team will be here to check in from time to time and see what's cooking. We'll make sure to keep you updated on what we see being voted to the top, or when a new feature or fix launches based on the feedback you provided.
Now, it's time to start sharing those great ideas! To get started, it takes 3 easy steps:
1. Visit the Product Ideas page at http://productideas.appspot.com
2. Sign in with your Google account (or sign up for one, if you don't have one).
3. That's it! Start submitting or voting on ideas.
3. That's it! Start submitting or voting on ideas.

Looks like an fun way to engage fans of Google. My concern would be that some of the suggestions are not limitation of Google but rather the platform used to carry the app. For example several of the suggestions that are getting attention apply more to Apple's iPhone email app rather than Google.
It would seem prudent to keep track of them, but would you not be better served by calling those out? That doesn't mean you can't work to improve the product with 3rd parties, but it would be nice to know where the responsibility lies.
Additionally, for suggestions that are where people are missing how to do something in an app would it not make sense to refer the user to documentation, help pages or forums that address the issue?

It's annoying that so little space is given for explaining an idea. I had to pare mine down so much that not all the important aspects of it could be described.

It would also be nice to be able to see more ideas at once...this would make it a lot easier to quickly find and vote on ones you are interested in. Right now I can only see 10 at a time unless I go to the presentation view, where I can't vote.

Ummmmmm this is a great way for google to freaking steal your ideas, make millions of dollars from them, and what do you get? MAYBE a shout out on their blog. Well I am definitely gonna give them my idea if they are gonna steal it..... I know we are in rough financial times google but COME ON! stealing ideas from users??????

You know those plastic wall displays and children's books that do 3D without glasses...they have like fine prism ridges all through the plastic that divides what each eye sees and the image beneath it is made of two images laid together in thin strips...why doesn't someone do that with video displays? You'd just divide up the image into strips and slap a plastic prism sheet over the display and viola! 3D without glasses. That's how they need to do 3D on HD Televisions too.

You could also develope a processor that automaticall splits images into either real or simulated 3D so that it always fits whatever display you're watching. So an image would work with large HD or a small PDA. In other words the conversion is done in the device rather than at the source so all images could be actual 3D made from two tagged images or simulated 3D made from a simgle image, one with a slightly altered perspective (this simulation technology exists already)

It´s terrible that you are taking ideas without paying people for that, at last, you will lost a lot of time just reading impossible ideas.

the associated tools are not on a par to help read and vote on ideas. Grouping and presentation tools are neeeded, or a dense list, not a few per page.
The persons who can spend time on product ideas are not representative of standard users.

The productideas.appspot is a little flawed in the fact that the most popular post appears at the top each time...of course it will be voted on more then the others.

This is lame. A whole series of bright ideas does not mean, it will be any sort of success.
It is product concepts in totality that is needed. A few bright ideas will remain "just a few bright ideas". Whats the point. The person and/or team needs to conceptualise the whole end-to-end system and be implementable. It has to be useful enough to attract attention.
I am sorry, there is no short-cut to innovation. It is bright ideas coupled of brilliant design and superb implementation. Thats 10million: 1 chances if you look at laws of probability.
With the internet having 1billion users, there are only 100 such people who can make it succeed. So tell me why would they choose Google ???.

NEED A CALENDAR SEARCH on the G1 - Having lost the Classic/Desktop version of Google Calendar to the mobile version on my G1, there is no way to do a Calendar search on the phone.
Neither the Android or mobile calendars allow a calendar search. I would much prefer getting back the CHOICE to use to the the Classic version of Calendar which allows a search.
In any event please allow a calendar search in one or more versions of Google Calendar on the G1. Thanks.

I agree with Milan above -too little space is given to describe ideas clearly. As a result, I could not fit my recent post, "NEED A CALENDAR SEARCH on the G1" on the ideas blog.

Gmail 4 Mobile:
When replying a msg. Please Add an option to edit it before sending it(currently it only gives u space to add but u can't see/edit the original msg)
this can be really helpful if you have a same msg(template)that u need to send to different people(then you can just customize it for every person)
Let's say you can have a template saved in your mail e.g.:
"Hello XXX, thank you for.."
and you just click reply, put the email address of the person, and just change the XXX for the name of the person each time you need to send it!

Since I log in to the Product Ideas site with my Google Login then it should use my Google Profile instead of creating it's own - or at least give me the option.

Hi everyone,
Well I am not sure but is it the good place to post ideas that we think are interesting for Google?
Personnaly I sat up a marketing computer application that I would like to suggest to Google but I have no idea where I can post this idea.
It seems that this blog is concerning only mobile technology.

Is there some way to mark an idea as a duplicate? I either end up voting for the first idea that I like or voting for all the ones that are similar.
Maybe the ability to "pin" an idea so it stays on top and then when you find a dupe you drag & drop it on the one you pinned.
Some brilliant Google algorithm could select the primary idea and there could be an Expand All link to show the proposed/accept duplicates.

My two cents:
* google product ideas is great, but isn't there a spot for ideas about this product itself? :)
* some voting yes/no for an idea is sufficient, but not really accurate. Actually, there are good ideas, bad ideas, very good ideas, very bad ideas... I'd prefer a rating system based on a scale and not only on a binary option.
* what if two ideas are similar? There should be a way to mark an idea as similar to another (or more than one).
* comments and proposals about an idea: why did i say yes? why no?
Really useful anyway!

My Little Princess took eigtt years to come into fruition and involved a tangle of personal battles and professional triumphs; allowing Ionesco to exorcise elements of her childhood."I feel more reconciled," she says. Becoming a director was key to her evolution." It gave me so much pleasure from start to finish," she says.Being a recognized actress nuturally helped-Ionesco has worked with directors Roman Polanski, Patrice Chereau and Jacques Doillon. It gave her the confidence to approach Isabelle Huppert when they were both on the same film set."Isabelle was amaing throughout the project," Ionesco recalls. "She completely understood the unconscious side of my mother's behaviour and the bling craziness that devoured her." Ionesco also revelled in preparing Rumanian newcomer Anamaria Vartolomei for the role of Violetta, chosen amongst 500 other 10-year-old hopefuls."It tooj several months are already inderway for a sequel. "Making the movie was life changing," she says. "It made me realise that you can reach your creative Utopia but you have to be prepared to fight all the way."
