Girl Geek Nation -
The Girl Geek - Opinions about IT
Many Blackberry and iphone users especially I've noticed, seem to have issues with Google Apps. Why not get a phone that works with Google Apps - Eventually you'll find what works best. I'm not saying "don't buy Blackberry or iphone" or any other phone out there with cool features. But You don't have to be the first one to get the newest phone out there if its not going to work with the applications you love to use and have always worked well for you in the past. New toys are great but when productivity & important features that you depend on are what matters most? The Girl Geek says "Shop around, Change is Good." Google is powerful and they are here to stay. See who they've become. In a perfect world, right now Google would have the perfect application for every phone and it would work seamlessly - Give them time, I believe it will happen. I'm no "Kim Komando," but I have tested many Mobile Phones with many applications, thats what I do. (Not just phones, but everything to do with I.T., Hardware and Software) Some of Our Countries' most Brilliant Minds are working away at Google even as I type this comment. Give them more time & They will give you the World and make I.T. work for You. Google has transformed the world as we know it. Personally, I don't know anyone who works there but everytime you read about the latest, newest, best and fastest, it seems the name "Google" is right there! You go Google - Keep up the good work - You should be proud and never quit or give up! The Girl Geek

I receive emails related to my businesses from certain parties for all of these emails I would like to identify certain email addresses that gmail would automatically label and highlight and save. With a quick look I can determine if there is an important ie from business email that needs attention.

Yes, BB and iPhone users ARE having problems with the Google apps. I'd like to point out that the apps worked when we bought our phones. The issue seems to be something that Google is doing that breaks the functionality. Google could at least post a message in the support forums that says that they are aware of the issues and that they are working on it. The silence is deafening.

For google maps, a jogging application would be sweet where you could give your location and say how long of a run/walk/jog and say (possibly but this may be asking too much) whether you want hilly or flat or mixed surfaces.

The classic need is to go into a meeting and have to fuss with the speaker. I suggest that you create an app that allows users to define and select operating modes like the airport mode on the Verizon Motorola Droid. I would like to create a power profile for car, meeting, headset,...

Create for the android OS a way to access at home or cloud-based music libraries. The stock music player will be able to sync to any music content that is cloud-based.It should resemble the "dropbox" platform which the player will sync, update & play.

Ther's been many times looking at meds, plants, old military service ribbons, etc and I had to spend hours online searching for what exactly they may be. It would be nice to have an app where you could just take a picture and it would bring up info on whatever it is instead of having to look through numerous web pages hoping to find out.

I would enjoy having Google Assistant reply "you're welcome" after I say "thank you" after it helps me!
